Core team
Our main team consists of employees, interns and extremely dedicated volunteers. They take care of the overall project management, partnerships, teaching methods, communications and social media and other important tasks to keep our program running.
Hugo Martínez Jiménez
Program Manager / Team Coordinator
Hugo is an experienced professional working in the area of migrations. With over 4 years of experience in project management, his career developed from a bachelors degree in Anthropology to a Masters in Management in the Humanitarian sector. After a year in India collaborating with a grassroots organisation working on education, then moved to Jordan as a project manager with Movement for Peace where coordinated a series of educational projects in 3 different locations aimed at the refugee population. Then joined OCC as the program manager of MigraCode to ensure the implementation of our various courses and promote the labour inclusion of the participants.

Ali Raza Ashraf
Project Coordinator / Head of Education
Ali first joined as a European Solidarity Corps Volunteer and participated in MigraCode as a student in 2020. He is experienced in education and community building, he oversees the success of Web Development & AWS re/Start Cloud courses. He manages selection, onboarding, curriculum, and career development. Works closely with students and volunteers, oversees everyone’s well-being and manages our events. He is dedicated to increasing students’ employment rate and providing opportunities for growth.

Simon Luque
Project Manager
Simón graduated from our Web Development course in 2021. He is currently in charge of our self-learning programs at MigraCode. He keeps contact with our students, monitors their progress, gives them technical assistance, and also helps with the management of our Web Development program. Originally a health care professional, he has been transcending to tech over the last few years, and now pursuing a course in Data Science. He is passionate about technology, but also about coffee, and sports.

Isar
Tech Consultant
With over five years of experience in diverse settings, including institutions, private companies, and the social sector. He uses his experience as a full stack developer to support students and graduates with their technical and employability skills. As an education assistant, his tasks include improving the syllabus, assisting instructors during classes, managing devices, pairing up volunteers with students and assisting the Head of Education with his tasks. Computer science graduate, he holds an Associate’s degree with a minor in professional insertion and a Bachelor’s degree with a minor in web technologies. He has volunteering experiences in different sectors (childcare, food distribution, clothing distribution). He sees programming as a tool to improve society and better the lives of the people learning it.

Isha
Volunteer Education Assistant
Isha graduated from our web development course in 2022. She is now working with MigraCode team as an ESC volunteer. Her duties include managing devices, matching volunteers with students, and checking student’s progress with their assignments. What makes Isha’s journey even more remarkable is her academic background. Originally from Pakistan, she pursued post-graduation in Medical Science then she made a big decision to switch career and move to Spain to work in the technology field.This change shows that for her, technology isn’t just something we use; she sees it as a fundamental part of our everyday lives.

Vincent van Grondelle
Co-Founder
Vincent is the co-founder and previous program manager of the MigraCode Barcelona program, and through his experience with this,obtained profound knowledge of the tech sector, open education and working with refugees and migrants. With a background in social work, data analysis, nonprofit management, political science and philosophy, his focus has always been on combating structural inequities and bringing people together to make a positive social impact in society. After finishing his work at MigraCode in November 2022, he continued to volunteer with the program and work together with Open Cultural Center with his own social project.
